Unsatisfied

When I purchase my 2019 Tucson a couple month after I was hearing a ticking sound I take it to a Hyundai dealer i tell them about the issue. they tell me to book a diagnostic appointment for someone to do a test drive and listen for the noise.

Me and one guy from the Hyundai dealer go for test drive. even when you hear ticking sound the guy keep saying that he not hear anything, we even go on the 401 and Yorkdale entering the ram there is a wall when taking the corner close range every time I passed there you could hear the loud ticking noise. Eventhere the guy said he heard nothing. At one point, That very moment, he told me it is a GDI engine, and there is a certain point when you accelerate the exhaust open and close under the Monyfold and you will hear ticking a sound.

They keep telling me there is nothing wrong, and every time I leave there I feel uncomfortable saying to my self why would Hyundai make a GDI engine making noise. But I know it was no GDI the ticking sound was there and they hear the noise but they dont want to fix or be responsible for anything. Because at that time the Tucson was under warranty. So I keep going there for oil change until the Tucson was 150,000 km.

Because at that range the Tucson was not on warranty anymore, so I would of to fix my self. But they could of helped me. because they know the problem and trying to be smart. So because they tell me the noise was nothing to worry about.

I just service and drive and ignore the noise. But now the knock sensor activated.

I take it the mechanic they tell me I needed a engine replacement. So all that time they were ignoring me and tell me nonsense and stories it was noise ticking inside the engine maybe it could of prevented.

We went to Grimsby Hyundai Ontario. We looked at a 2019 Santa Fe and took it for a test drive. We noted to the salesperson, Manny, that there were two stone chips in the bottom right corner of the windshield, scratches we would like to have buffed out, and that the brakes seemed low. He replied that the vehicle had just come in and had not been looked over yet. We bought the car.

On the same day we bought the car, we saw the finance person, Warrin Renwick. We bought a package for paint protection and were told we would get windshield protection. When we picked up the car on May 10, 2024, at 12.00, the car was not ready. They had prepared the wrong car and our sales rep, Manny, was on holiday.

We waited an hour and finally got the car from another saleswoman. The scratches were not buffed out, the stone chips were not fixed, and the back mats were missing. When we pointed this out to the saleswoman, she said Manny would be back the following week and she would ask him to call.

We received no call from Manny, so on May 15th my husband washed the car. As he was washing it, the windshield where the stone chips were cracked straight across the windshield.

On May 16th, my husband and a friend took the car back to Grimsby Hyundai and talked to our sales rep, Manny, and Manager Ahmed Eltamalwy. The manager proceeded to call my husband a liar, saying 100% there were no mats in the back of the vehicle. Finally, my husband asked, 'Are you calling me a liar?' Then the manager had Manny call someone, only to confirm that there were mats in the back. He never apologized to my husband.

They agreed to buff out the scratches, but they refused to pay for the windshield, saying it happened after we took it off the lot. We said we took it because the other sales rep said Manny would call us when he got back. The manager still asserted he was lying about the stone chip.

So we had to go through our insurance and pay $645.00. I then called Manny and asked him to see if the company would pay my deductible seeing how he and the saleswoman knew about the stone chips. They shouldn't have passed the safety. I told Manny this was very poor customer service since we just paid $29,000 for a car, and the company knew about the stone chips.

We have been dealing with Hyundai for over 20 years now, and we've never had a problem with the dealer Haldimand Motors. Very poor customer service, we will never deal with them again.

The person tried to help but there isn’t a recall on the paint peeling issue YET. Was advised to take my Tuscan to a dealer to have them assess. I’ve seen two other white Hyundais in my vicinity with the same issue.
